Sports Planning Guide (SPG), the leading publication and website for sports event professionals, has partnered with industry expert Nick Povalitis, CDME, and his new company Plus Seven Company (P7c) to provide quality content for sports tourism professionals. The partnership will allow Sports Planning Guide’s audience of over 106,000 sports tournament & event professionals access to high-quality insight on event creation, marketing, sponsorship and growth.
“We are proud to have Nick’s visionary guidance as one of our contributors,” said publisher of Sports Planning Guide, Jeff Gayduk. “As we continue to grow our network across North America, it was important that we bring together experts like Nick who can help us offer even better content.”
Nick directs content strategy at P7c. He’s a renowned industry author and will be providing his expertise on topics such as quality content development for events, event design trends and latest innovations in orchestrating successful sports tournaments.
Nick is a nine-year sports tourism veteran after recently wrapping up his tenure at his hometown tourism agency. Since joining the Rockford Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (RACVB) in 2012, Povalitis developed marketing and sales strategies that delivered the region a multitude of national partnerships, premier tourism events and the creation and execution of local events that generated international media reach. Under his guidance, the Bureau won five national sports tourism awards from the Sports Events & Tourism Association (SportsETA).
Nick founded Plus Seven Company to deliver winning experiences and events, brand building and public relations, tourism marketing and sales, and all things quality content. “I’m grateful for this opportunity to work with SPG and the Premier Travel Media team to help shine a light on the importance of sports tourism,” Nick said. “This is a partnership about applied learning and doing the work—I’m excited to get started and to continue learning from so many talented industry colleagues and professionals.”
