After facing unprecedented challenges, America’s Inbound travel industry is poised for a strong comeback.

Data from the National Travel & Tourism Office (NTTO) indicates that international arrivals plummeted by as much as 95% during the depths of COVID, but since international borders reopened, tourists are returning to the U.S. en masse. Through April of this year, NTTO reports over 12 million arrivals, a 195% year-over-year improvement.

For the travel trade, navigating the complexities of re-establishing connections, ever-changing guidelines and staying in touch with foreign buyers is more critical than ever.

New International Inbound Newsletter Launched

To aid its members in their recovery strategies, the International Inbound Travel Association (IITA) has launched a brand new e-newsletter, InSite on America. Produced bi-weekly in publishing partnership with Premier Travel Media, the newsletters are an invaluable resource for travel and hospitality suppliers in the United States wanting to grow their business and expand their network. Each edition showcases industry-specific reports, inbound travel trends and statistics, while shining the spotlight on IITA supplier members and operators.

Comprised of both original and curated content, recent features announced the 2022 National Travel and Tourism Strategy, articulated the growth of Tribal Tourism Experiences in National Parks and detailed how Brand USA is helping restore America’s international inbound travel business.

Says Lisa Simon, IITA Executive Director, “For several years, we’ve been distributing an annual publication, Inbound Insider, that includes a member directory to put our members in the hands of international tour operators and travel agents. Our new newsletter, InSite on America, allows us to communicate more frequently and consistently with these important international buyers. And the work that Premier Travel Media has done to ensure an up-to-date contact list during this workforce volatility is a significant benefit for our membership.”
